It’s All About Connections

Conan Kirk

This trip has certainly been fruitful in making connections.  The Scots are big on leaving a legacy; thus, everywhere you turn you have reminders to make your life count.  Relationships are, of course, at the forefront of life’s purpose.

Our favorite moments of the trip have all been about connections with God’s people.  We got to spend more time getting to know and praying with our new busking friends; a wonderful couple from the Netherlands. They made an interesting observation that the Scottish people tend to be very right brained.  They lean heavily to the music and arts which also makes them easier to able to learn to prophecy and see words from the Lord in pictures.  We have certainly seen that to be the case.

We further enjoyed making new friendships with a missionary couple from the States, who have lived here full-time for about 6 years.  They welcomed us into their home and we were able to talk about their church and how they are impacting the entire world via online training and community of believers to work in the gifts of teaching, healing and prophecy. It was exciting to hear what the Lord is doing in His worldwide kingdom.

There was even one day we randomly sought out a local sporting goods tradesman that was in a very surprising building. It turned out to be one of the premier leaders in the same field our son is interested in pursuing.  The man took time out of his day to let us interview him and ask advice for someone wanting to go into the same field. It led to some good conversations that we hope will influence our son’s future.

Thank you for your continued prayers.  We are in the most important phase of the trip, which is the sitting still phase.  We truly appreciate all the prayers you guys have been sending on our behalf.
