Autism Detox

This article has come up so many times in recent days and weeks that I’m posting it here for you. I don’t know anything else about the author, nor am I recommending these protocols to you. It is listed here as a reference point for you to add to your research.

There is some evidence that autism is linked to heavy metals in the brain. Is it the only cause? Not likely; but, i do believe it is a contributor. There’s evidence that almost 50% of the toxins in the mothers body is passed to the child. That is why the first-borns tend to be the worst off of all the kids. Unless the mother encounters new toxins she’s her toxic load decreases by half with each child.

Any detox protocol needs to be done with wisdom else you can make things much much worse. We have had both good and bad results from detoxing. We went very very slowly (a.k.a. years) partly because we didn’t have the financial resources to cover the medical costs involved and partly because this was 20 years ago and the research was new and sparse. This gave great results. On the other hand, I ended up in Septic Shock in the hospital after trying all the therapies at once in a pharmacologists guided program.

But, for us, after starting our child on zinc supplementation in their teens, they began using the swing for the first time in their life and learned to ride a bike.

After Sulphoraphane, they began remembering dreams.

We tried so much. Occupational Therapy at age four made a huge difference, but “brushing” didn’t; although, it works great for some. While playing in a huge box of beans helped, as did pushing heavy laundry baskets. Research proprioceptive therapy.

Ion foot baths helped with the detox. If i were starting now, I would add red light or blue light therapies and rebounding.

At one point, we had a toxicologist run some tests on both our kids and the one that had done all these things was so much ‘cleaner’ than the one who fought us and wouldn’t go along with the therapies.

You must read, pray and decide what is right for you and your family. I can, however, tell you, it’s worth every bit of progress you make.

I would be remiss and dishonoring to the Lord if I didn’t tell you that the absolute biggest changes came through two prayer sessions. In the first, my husband and I went through a prayer process called Deliverance. Our child didn’t even get prayed for and they were radically different from that day forward. The second was when a friend at church was praying for them. Never underestimate the power of prayer and don’t give up. The road ahead of you may be long but if you lean on the Lord, their will be victory and He will work this out for good.

Our child now has friends, is fully employed and in college and doesn’t mind loud noises, haircuts, etc.

I hope this article helps you. May it spark your research and give you hope that your and your child’s future will be bright. It’s an old article so do your research. There’s so much more available to you than when we started; but, do get help. This is not something that is going to get better by ignoring it. And for those of you who follow Jesus; faith is not pretending nothing is wrong. Faith is not hoping things will get better. Faith is trusting. Faith is staying grounded, keeping your mind set on things above, taking every thought captive. Faith is walking forward. Faith takes action, including rest. I know that sounds counterintuitive but you need to rest in the Lord as well. It’s a balance. We were not left defenseless. Take up your weapons of faith (Ephesians 6), namely the Shield of Faith and the Rhema word of God. Get praying, then get moving. You’ve got some work to do.
