Declaring The Purposes of God Over Your Life
Enjoy this audio prayer asking God to help you live your best life.
Rise up, O Spirit within me. It is time to declare the purposes over your life. We’re going to start in Isaiah 61 because you know this is your calling. Isaiah 61 verse 1, The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted. He has sent us to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.
And even the day of vengeance of our God, He has sent you to comfort all who mourn, To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, To give them the oil of gladness instead of mourning, Give them a mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting, So that they will be called Oaks of Righteousness.
Planted by the Lord so that he may be glorified. Then they will build and rebuild the ancient ruins. They will raise up the former devastations and repair the ruined cities. The desolations of many generations. Furthermore, from verse 6, you’ll be called the priests of the Lord and spoken of as ministers of our God.
Instead of shame, you’ll have a double portion. You’ll eat the wealth of nations. You’ll shout for joy over your portion. Everlasting joy will be theirs.
This is why you get out of bed. This is why you stand firm. This is why you go on each day. Because God has a mission. God has a purpose. And if you feel like that you have failed, and it may be true that you have drawn back or withheld yourself, then I want you to listen to Isaiah 50. Verse 4, a promise from the Lord.
He says, The Lord God has given me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with the word. He awakens me morning by morning. He awakens my ear to listen as a disciple. The Lord God has opened my ear, and I was not disobedient, nor did I turn back. Verse 7, for the Lord God helps me.
Know this. It is the Lord that does this. He awakens you in the morning. He awakens your ear. He gives you the tongue. He gives you the words to say. All you have to do is show up. And I can’t even say you have to listen, because that, that kind of even works. Even in that, leaves it up to you. He speaks, and you will hear.
Declare this verse as a promise over your life. I was not disobedient. I will not be disobedient. I will not turn back because the Lord has given me the tone of disciples. Because he awakens me morning by morning. And maybe you have come out of a desert season or dry season with the Lord. Isaiah 30 verse 19.
But let’s start with 18. Therefore, the Lord longs to be gracious to you. Therefore, he waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice. How blessed are all those who long for him? Oh, people in Zion inhabit in Jerusalem. You will weep no longer. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry.
When he hears it, he will answer you. And although the Lord has given you the bread of adversity and the water of oppression or affliction, he, your teacher, will no longer hide himself, but your eyes will behold him. Your eyes will behold your teacher. Your ears will hear a word behind you. This is the way.
Walk in it. Whenever you turn to the right or to the left.
Father, I declare that you have promised that my ears will hear you tell me which way to go. So I am trusting in that, because I don’t know what to do. Not even for a day do I know what to do, but I trust you. You promised, Lord. You promised, and I’m counting on that.
